Practicing Critique

use This quick facilitated activity to introduce tips and tricks and to help students take control of the feedback process

Critiques create opportunities for collaboration, mitigating risk, and achieving greater results faster, yet it's something students often avoid. Let's change the conversation about critique. Through a series of role-playing and active listening exercises, this workshop gives a space for students to practice giving and receiving feedback. They'll also leave class with a useful handout for managing critique.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

30 minutes

WHEN SHOULD I USE IT?

Early and often! Don't save critique for a final presentation. This works well when there's work-in-progress to share out as a class.

WHERE SHOULD I START?

We recommend starting with the critique overview and then familiarizing yourself with the presentation slides.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
